The International Day of the Girl Child

The International Day of the Girl Child, observed every year on October 11, aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face while promoting girls’ empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights. This year’s theme was “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontline of Crisis.”

The program  followed by the Welcome Address delivered and Felicitation were delivered by Prof. S. Andrew John Silvester, Director, School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission’s Puducherry Campus, who emphasized the importance of empowering young women to become leaders of tomorrow.

The Awareness Session under the theme “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontline of Crisis” was delivered by distinguished speakers:

Ms. Raja Kumari, B.A., LL.M (NHAI) – who spoke on “Empowering Youth Through Legal Awareness.”

Ms. Shanmugasathia, Sub-Inspector of Police – who addressed the topic “The Role of Women in Building a Safe Society.”

Dr. Rose K., M.Sc (N)., Ph.D (N), Nursing Superintendent – who delivered an inspiring talk on “Compassion, Care, and Confidence – The Heart of Every Woman.”

Following the Awareness Program an Expo was conducted for students under the theme “Empowered Women, 

Empowering the World,” showcasing creative models and posters reflecting women’s strength and leadership.

 expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, guests, faculty members, and student participants.

Nearly 200 students actively participated in the event, and prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment to promote equality, education, and empowerment for every girl child—reminding all that “When girls are empowered, communities thrive, and nations progress.”


Birth Anniversary of Dr.A.P.J.Abdula Kalam

NSS, School of Allied Health Sciences, Puducherry organized Drawing Competition on the occasion of 'Birth Anniversary of Dr.A.P.J.Abdula Kalam' on the topic 'The Power of Dreams' on 15th October 2025 in SAHS Campus, Puducherry. About 20 students participated in the competition.

Runner: G.Bhuvaneshwari, BSc Cardiac Technology- 1st year

The prizes were distributed to the winners by Prof.S.Andrew John Silvester, Director, SAHS- Puducherry Campus.


NATIONAL DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN WEEK 2025

On the occasion of "NATIONAL DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN WEEK 2025", Department of Renal Dialysis Technology organised a Guest Lecture on 15-10-2025 at SAHS, Auditorium based on the theme: Empowering Dialysis Excellence  Prof. Andrew John Silvester. S Director, SAHS, Vinayaka Mission's Puducherry Campus delivered the keynote address and felicitated the Chief guest, Mr. K. Selvaganapathy, Dialysis Technician, unit manager, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai. The guest speaker Mr. Selvaganapthy  delivered a lecture about “Roles and responsibilities of Dialysis Tech” As a token of love and encouragement Dialysis technicians of Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital and Vianayaka Mission’s Superspeciality Hospital were honoured with mementoes. The students of the Department of Dialysis Technology have made a significant contribution to the institution by donating a Human skeletal System model to the college. At the end of the session the cake cutting ceremony was done.


Empowering Dialysis Excellence

Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day 2025, the Department of Public Health and SAHS Youth Club jointly organized a Mental Health Awareness Programme for the Traffic Police personnel at Kirumampakkam Police Station on 10th October 2025 under the theme “Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.”


The event began with a Welcome & the felicitation of Mr. Bhakthavachalam, Superintendent of Police– South Puducherry Traffic and Mr. Danvantri, Inspector of Police – Kirumampakkam, by Director of SAHS Prof. Andrew John Silvester, who also delivered the Keynote Address highlighting the importance of mental health for frontline workers.

 conducted an ice-breaking session using Mentimeter to explore stress coping mechanisms among the officers and discussed the importance of mental health, myths, and misconceptions.  then demonstrated relaxation techniques such as the Breath Box, Grounding Techniques, and JPMR Relaxation. Nearly 30 Police Personnel participated and benefited from the programme. The program was organized by the  faculties and students of the Department of Public Health and SAHS Youth Club.

The Department of Public Health, in collaboration with the SAHS Youth Club, organized a pledge on the occasion of World Mental Health Day 2025 under the theme "Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies."


Nearly 500 students and faculty members came together to affirm their commitment to promoting mental well-being, supporting each other, and spreading awareness about the importance of accessible mental health services, especially during times of crisis.

On the occasion of "World Heart Day - 2K25", Department of Perfusion Technology & Department of Cardiac Technology organized a Guest Lecture Programme based on the theme "Don't Miss a Beat". Started with Quiz Competition and Logo formation (Circulation  and oxygenation).Welcome the guest & Key note address was delivered by Prof.S.Andrew John Silvester. S, Director, SAHS, Vinayaka Mission’s Puducherry Campus and felicitated the Chief guest Ms. Jaisri. S , Assistant Professor, Department of Cardiology (SAHS), Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University , Puducherry  campus and Ms. Glory Minimol Alexander, Assistant Professor, Department of Perfusion Technology, Manipal colleges of Health Professions , MAHE , Manipal delivered a lecture about Heart Rhythm Disorders: Arrhythmias and Don't Miss a Beat: The Science of Heart Health and Lifestyle. Quiz Competition were organised and all the delegates actively participated. The winners from the competition were awarded prizes and certificates.  Department of Perfusion Technology. A total of 150 students participated in the program. The arrangements were done by Faculties.


World Rabies Day 2025

On the occasion of World Rabies Day 2025, the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology and  Public Health, in collaboration with Department of Health & Family Welfare, Primary Health centre, Bahour, Puducherry organized an Awareness Program under the global theme: “Act Now: You, Me, Community.”

The program began with the felicitation ceremony by Prof.S. Andrew John Silvester, Director, who also delivered the Keynote Address, highlighting the importance of community participation in rabies prevent.

The awareness session was conducted at PHC Bahour, where students performed a Flash Mob and a Skit depicting the protocols to be followed after a dog bite, creating awareness among the public in an engaging manner. Pamphlets on rabies prevention and management were also distributed to the community.

The Awareness session was enriched by the presence of eminent speakers:

Dr. G. Anandavelou, Chief Medical Officer, PHC Bahour, emphasized the critical role of early reporting, timely wound care, and vaccination in preventing rabies fatalities.

Dr. P. Muralidarane, State Veterinary Consultant & Nodal Officer, National Rabies Control Program, spoke about the epidemiology of rabies, the importance of animal vaccination, and coordinated community strategies for rabies elimination.The event was successfully organised Medical Laboratory Technology and the Department of Public Health, Reinforcing the collective commitment to achieve a rabies-free society.


World environmental Health Day

To promote environmental responsibility, tree saplings along with monitoring cards were distributed to all department in-charges. This initiative encourages departments to actively contribute to a greener and healthier campus.


The event witnessed the participation of nearly 150 students, who engaged with great enthusiasm, making the program a grand success.


Guest Lecture Program

The Environmental Science Students Club of SAHS organized a Guest Lecture Program on the occasion of Environmental Health Day on 26th September 2025 at the SAHS Auditorium. The program began with the Invocation Song, Welcome Address, followed by the Keynote Address and Felicitation by Prof. S. Andrew John Silvester, Director, School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission's Puducherry campus.

The Guest Lecture on the theme “Clean Air, Healthy People” was delivered by Mr. Dayal Dev S, Junior Research Fellow, ICPH – IISc, he highlighted how environmental degradation and air pollution significantly contribute to human health defects such as respiratory illnesses, cardiovascular diseases, and reduced quality of life. He also emphasized the need for strategies like pollution control measures, promoting green spaces, encouraging renewable energy, reducing vehicular emissions, and raising community awareness to ensure sustainable health outcomes.

As part of the celebration, a Poster Presentation Competition was conducted in which Swetha and Logesh from the 2nd Year Anaesthesia Department secured the First Prize, Swetha Kaliyamoorthy AT 1st Year won the Second Prize, and Dharshini CT 1st year won the Third Prize.


National service scheme Day -2025

The NSS Unit of SAHS, Puducherry organized NSS Day 2025 with the theme “Youth for Digital India.” The event highlighted the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental sustainability. As part of the program, volunteers conducted a Beach Clean-Up Drive and Shramdan. Fifty students and six faculty members participated, collecting nearly 100 kg of waste from Palmyra Beach and nearby areas. The waste was handed over to Bahour Municipality for proper disposal. The initiative showcased civic responsibility and community engagement. SAHS thanks all contributors for making the event impactful and successful.


Walkathon – Awareness Rally

The Department of Cardiac Technology, Perfusion Technology, and Accident & Emergency Care Technology, organized a large-scale “Walkathon – Awareness Rally” on the occasion of World Heart Day 2025 observed with the global theme “Don’t Miss a Beat.”


The event aimed to spread awareness on heart health, prevention of heart attacks, and emergency response measures among the public.The first phase of the rally was held at Rock Beach, Puducherry, at 7:00 AM. The rally was flagged off by Mr. Kalaivanan R (IPS), Senior Superintendent of Police, Govt. of Puducherry. Students carried placards with strong health messages, drawing the attention of morning walkers and the general public and The second phase commenced at Cuddalore Government Hospital and concluded at Anna Stadium in the evening at 4:00 PM. This rally was flagged off by Mr. S. Jeyakumar (IPS), Superintendent of Police, Cuddalore District.


As part of the program, students staged a mime performance highlighting the dangers of heart disease and the importance of timely medical intervention. In addition, CPR demonstrations were conducted to educate the public on how to respond during cardiac emergencies.Nearly 150 students actively took part in the awareness drive. The program was successfully organized. The initiative drew the participation and attention of over 250 members of the public, making it a significant step in community health promotion.


Hands on Workshop World First Aid 2025

The Department of Accident and Emergency Care Technology, School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission’s Puducherry Campus, organized a Guest Lecture and Hands-on Workshop on the occasion of World First Aid Day 2025, under the theme “First Aid and Climate Change.”


The program commenced with an Invocation Song, followed by the Lighting of the Lamp, Welcome Address, and Felicitation of the Guest Speakers.


The Keynote Address was delivered by Prof. S. Andrew John Silvester, Director, School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission's Puducherry campus.


The Lecture sessions included:

1. Dr. Sreeshitha C.M., Junior Resident, Department of Emergency Medicine, IGMC&RI, Puducherry – Presentation on First Aid.

2. Dr. Surendar R, Assistant Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, IGMC&RI, Puducherry – Lecture on Basic Life Support (BLS) and Choking.

3. Dr. Mohammed Naveeth Imran, Senior Resident, Department of Emergency Medicine, JIPMER, Puducherry – Demonstration on Basic Life Support and Choking.


This was followed by a BLS Team Scenario conducted by the guest team, along with a Hands-only CPR Session for both students and faculty.


To encourage interactive learning, the guest team also conducted engaging activities, including Triage Exercises, BLS Scenarios, and Puzzle Games for both faculty and students.


The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Jayasuriya M, Assistant Professor & Department In-Charge, Department of Accident and Emergency Care Technology,SAHS Puducherry Campus followed by the National Anthem.

The event was a grand success, providing both theoretical , life scenario demonstration and hands-on experience in first aid and emergency care.


Cleanliness Drive

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of SAHS, Puducherry organized Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 under the theme:

“Swachhata is Everyone’s Business.”


The observance emphasized the collective responsibility of maintaining cleanliness, fostering hygienic practices, and promoting a sustainable environment for future generations.

As part of the programme, NSS volunteers conducted a Campus Clean-Up Drive along with community cleanliness activities (Shramdan). A total of 60 students and 5 faculty members actively participated in the initiative, demonstrating their commitment to cleanliness and social responsibility. Through their dedicated efforts, nearly 80 kilograms of waste was collected from the campus and surrounding areas.

The collected waste was formally handed over to the Bahour Municipality for proper disposal, ensuring environmental responsibility and civic partnership.


This initiative reflects the commitment of SAHS, PUDUCHERRY campus towards cleanliness, sustainability, and community well-being. The NSS Unit extends gratitude to all students, faculty, and staff who contributed to making Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 a meaningful and impactful movement.

The event was well coordinated by NSS Programme officer and NSS Students and Faculty members of SAHS PUDUCHERRY Campus.


Nutrition Week 2025

The Department of Public Health and the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology jointly organized Nutrition Week 2025 – Awareness Programme on Healthy Food & Balanced Diet on the theme “Right Food, Bright Future” on 3rd September 2025 at Kavingar Bharathidasan High School,Bahour. Nearly 80 students participated in the programme which aimed to create awareness on the importance of nutrition and healthy eating habits. Ms. L.K. Saranya, Assistant Professor, Department of Master of Public Health, delivered an insightful session on healthy food and balanced diet, while Mr. Sudhakar, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, conducted a creative session on the Alphabets of Nutrition. To make the programme more engaging, a nutrition-themed Snake and Ladder game was organized, and healthy multi-millet refreshments were provided to the students.


Teacher’s Day Celebration

The Students’ Council of SAHS proudly organized a memorable Teacher’s Day Celebration on 6th September 2025 at the SAHS Auditorium, Puducherry. The program was filled with heartfelt tributes, cultural performances, and fun-filled activities dedicated to our beloved teachers who nurture and guide us with immense dedication.


The event began with a warm Welcome Speech by Kishore, Vice President of the Student Council, followed by a keynote address by our respected Director Prof.S Andrew John Silvester. As a token of appreciation, all the faculty members were honored with a memento presented by the Director, making the occasion even more special.


The celebration continued with soulful songs and entertaining games specially prepared by the students to honor their mentors. Teachers also actively participated in the games, creating an atmosphere of joy and togetherness.


The celebration concluded with a sincere Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to our respected teachers for their tireless efforts and invaluable contributions to shaping our future.


Nearly 400 students, along with 65 teaching and non teaching-faculty members, participated in the event, making the day truly memorable.


Onam Celebration – 2025

The Student Council and Fine Arts Club of SAHS joyfully organized the Onam Celebration – 2025 on 5th September 2025 at the SAHS Campus. The program began with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Jain George Ma’am, followed by the keynote address delivered by Prof. Andrew John Silvester, Director of SAHS, Puducherry Campus, who extended festive greetings to all. The celebration concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Abhijth, Assistant Professor. The event was graced by the presence of our distinguished guests, faculty members, and students, creating an atmosphere of unity and cultural pride. Students actively participated in various traditional and cultural events, including Thiruvathira dance, fashion show, and Adhapookkal competitions, sundariku pottu.which added vibrance and charm to the celebration. The prizes were distributed to winners.


The event was a vibrant blend of colors, culture, and community spirit, reflecting the true essence of Onam – joy, prosperity, and harmony.  The celebration was well-organized by the Student Council and Fine Arts Club.

The Guests of Today’s event was Mr.Basha ,Sub-Inspector Traffic-Grand bazzer police station Puducherry. Our Director Prof.S.Andrew John Silvester sir felicitated the Guests with a momentum and plant Sappling.Nearly 150 students and 5 faculties participated in the rally. Following the Rally Human chain formation done in Rock Beach to instigate the commitment to ending the cycle of drug abuse and promoting a healthier drug free society.


Youth Skills Day- Awareness Rally

NSS unit of SAHS and Women Empowerment Cell, in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development, Puducherry,  jointly organized Awareness Rally on the occasion of Youth Skills Day focusing on 'Mission Shakti ' among the public on 15th July 2025 at 4 pm in Rock Beach, Puducherry. The rally began with a flag wave by Mrs.P.Muthumeema, Director- Women & Child Development Director and Mrs.J.Jayapriya, Assistant Director - Women Development. The students bearing placards walked along the Rock Beach and formed a logo indicating the Women Helpline Number: 181. Then the students participated in the special programme organised by the  department of Women and Child Development in the presence of Honourable Minister- Welfare, Honourable Minister- PWD and Honourable Speaker, Government of Puducherry. 150 students and 6 faculties actively participated and benefitted from the programme. The SAHS program coordintors were honoured by the Mrs.P.Muthumeema, Director- Women & Child Development.the event was well organised by NSS AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT CELL OF SAHS.


Annual Sports and Cultural Meet – “ZREYAS-2K25”

The Student Council and Fine Arts Club have  organized the Annual Sports and Cultural Meet – “ZREYAS-2K25” – on 14th June 2025. The event was inaugurated and led by Prof. Andrew John Silvester, Director of SAHS, Puducherry Campus, who delivered the welcome address and presented the annual report of the college activities. The magazine "Glimpse of SAHS – Annual Magazine 2k25" was released by Prof. Andrew John Silvester and the editorial team.Mr. Vijayaraghavan, Finance Head, graced the event with his esteemed presence.

The day was filled with vibrant cultural performances, including special appearances by our Chief Guests – Mrs. Priya Jerson, Mr. Chanderan, and Mr. Naveen. The overall trophy for sports and cultural events was awarded to the students. As a token of appreciation and contribution, the Student Council and Fine Arts Club students have donated a LED TV (48 inches) portable speaker, and tea poy to the college.

Organized a spectacular Sports Day inaugural Ceremony "ZREYAS-2k25."


The ceremony was done under the guidance of  Prof. Dr.B.Sendilkumar, Dean-AHS, VMRF(DU), 

Prof.Andrew John Silvester Director,SAHS PUDUCHERRY CAMPUS, delivered motivational presidential address, inspiring students to strive for excellence in sports and academics.

The event was honored by the presence of distinguished Chief Guests:

- Mr.Kabilan - INDIAN TEAM KHO KHO PLAYER ( 4th asian Championship Gold medalist representing India National team)

- Mr.Vinoth Kumar- Pro Kabaddi League and National player .

The chief guest delivered powerful motivational speech, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship and excelling in both academics and sports. The ceremony's highlight was an impressive march past  and oath-taking ceremony by the various teams, marking the commencement of ZREYAS-2k25 and it is a sense of excitement and anticipation for the upcoming sports competitions.

The day was delightfully started with a traditional pongal making and prayer. The cultural event began with a welcome address followed by keynote address delivered by Prof.Andrew John Silvester.S, Director, SAHS Puducherry Campus & a sparkling line up of dance performances & songs representing the various cultural art forms performed by the students, followed by a traditional dance presented by a cultural dance team.

School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission's Puducherry Campus from theSAHS Youth Club and NSS in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra- Puducherry, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India jointly organised "Guest Lecture" on the occasion of NATIONAL YOUTH DAY on the theme "Arise, Awake, and Realise the Power You Hold" on 9th January 2025 at SAHS Auditorium, Puducherry. The event began with a welcome speech by Ms.Shree Sruthi, Faculty Advisor- SAHS Youth Club. Prof.Andrew John Silvester, Director, School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission’s Puducherry Campus gave the keynote address for the day and felicitated the Chief Guest Mr.D.Devasigamani, Deputy Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra- Puducherry, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The dignitaries paid floral tribute to the portrait of Swami Vivekanandha. The Chief Guest Mr. D.Devasigamani gave a guest lecture about the formation of youth day, contributions of Swami Vivekanandha for the youth and integral role the youth play in the growth of the country. Nehru Yuva Kendra- Puducherry provided the SAHS Youth Club and NSS volunteers with a diary, cap and pen. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr.Govarthana Vishnu, NSS Faculty Advisor. About 200 students participated and benefitted from the guest lecture. The event was well coordinated and organised by the students and faculties of SAHS Youth Club and NSS.

Fine Arts Club and Environmental Students Club, SAHS Puducherry jointly organized NOEL 2024- Christmas Celebration on 21st December, 2024 

at SAHS Auditorium, Puducherry. The Christmas Crib prepared by the students of EVS Club & Fine Arts Club was inaugurated by Prof.Andrew John Silvester, Director, School of Allied Health Sciences. The programme began with a welcome address followed by a keynote address A skit depicting the birth of Jesus Christ was enacted along with a melodious choir. The celebration came to an end with the arrival of Santa and a cake cutting ceremony.

NEP Students Club and Student Council of School of Allied Health Sciences,Vinayaka Mission's Puducherry Campus, VMRF -DU jointly organized INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS DAY  on the theme "Empowering Minds, Igniting Change". The welcome speech was delivered by Ms.Shree Sruthi E, Faculty Advisor- NEP Students Club followed by keynote address by Prof.Andrew John Silvester, Director, School of Allied Health Sciences, Puducherry Campus. Four students delivered special talks about International Students Day and the impact the student community has on the global growth. During the award ceremony nearly 70 students received Best Student-Academics, Best Student-Extracurricular, Best Volunteer and Sports Excellence Awards. This award ceremony stood as a testament to the hard work of the students and an inspiration to all the students. A small video presentation by the faculties appreciating the students was displayed for the students.


World Prematurity Day- 2024

Department of Physician Assistant School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission's Puducherry campus, VMRF-DU organized On the occasion of "World Prematurity Day- 2024",a Guest Lecture Programme based on the theme Small actions, Big Impact: Immediate skin-to-skin care for every baby everywhere. Trash to Treasure Recycling Expo

Environmental Science (EVS) Club and the National Service Scheme (NSS), on the occasion of National Recycling Day-2024, organized a Trash to Treasure Recycling Expo along with a Guest Lecture. The event took place at the SAHS Auditorium on 15th November 2024.

This was followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guest, Mr. Kalaimaani Umapathy by Prof. Andrew John Silvester, Director of the School of Allied Health Sciences.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Kalaimaani .Umapathy, delivered an awareness lecture titled, "From Waste to Wow: Transforming Trash into Treasures," which emphasized the importance of recycling and creative reuse of waste materials. As a part of the event the Recycling Expo was conducted, where 15 students showcased innovative models made from old and recycled materials. Following this, the best three models from the Expo were awarded prizes by the Chief Guest.

The event was attended by over 200 students and 15 faculty members, all of whom benefited from the awareness lecture. The program was well coordinated by the faculty and students of the EVS Club and NSS.


Children's Day Celebration

Student Council, NSS and SAHS Youth Club of School of Allied Health Sciences, Puducherry jointly organized Children's Day Celebration on 14-11-2024 from 2.30 pm at Apres Home For School Children, Periyakattupalayam, Puducherry. The program began with a Welcome Address from Mr.Anandh, Headmaster, Apres Home For School Children. Prof.Andrew John Silvester, Director, School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission's Puducherry Campus felicitated the Mr.Anandh, Apres Home For School Children. The students, staff and management, donated stationary requirements  and refreshments for the children at the home. The students have also contributed for one day lunch and dinner for the children. A line of cultural events were presented by students for the children. Entertainment games were organized for the children and prizes were distributed to the winners.Nearly 50 school children actively participated and enjoyed the programme.


VIGILANCE AWARNESS WEEK- 2024

Department of Forensic Science Technology, NSS unit and SAHS Youth Club, School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission’s Puducherry campus, VMRF-DU jointly organized VIGILANCE AWARENESS RALLY on the occasion of "Vigilance awareness week-2024”,  a rally on behalf of “Vigilance awareness week” on 12/11/2024 from Kirumampakkam to Aarupadai Veedu Medical College entrance, Puducherry. Prof. Andrew John Silvester, Director, SAHS, Puducherry Campus felicitated traffic police officer Mr. Manivarnan. In this rally students of Forensic Science, NSS unit and Youth club created awareness by saying anti-corruption quotes on the theme “Culture of Integrity for nations prosperity”. Followed by the rally students and faculties of SAHS took the Integrity pledge by the Central Vigilance Commission. Totally around 45 students were actively participated in this rally programme.


National education Day 2024

School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Mission's Puducherry Campus, NEP Students Club and the NSS of the School of Allied Health Sciences, Puducherry, on the occasion of National Education Day 2024 organized E-Poster and Essay writing competitions, as well as a Faculty Panel Discussion on the topic of "Digital Learning and Equal Access". Prof. Andrew John Silvester, Director, SAHS Puducherry Campus as the Chairperson for the session. The Panel Discussion dwelled into various digital learning tools, how they are utilised in a classroom setting and importance of equal access of these innovative tools by the students. The Panel Members were given appreciation certificates and the winners of the E- Poster and Essay competitions were awarded with Medals and Certificates. Nearly 30 students actively participated in the competitions. The event was organized by the faculties and students of the NEP Students Club and NSS.


World stress awareness day 2024

The Department of Public Health and the SAHS Youth Club of the School of Allied Health Sciences, Puducherry, jointly organized an Employee Wellbeing Programme on the occasion of WORLD STRESS AWARENESS DAY 2024 under the theme "Campaigning to Reduce Stress and Improve Wellbeing" at Amcor Flexibles India Pvt. Ltd., Kattukuppam, Pillayarkuppam, Puducherry. The faculties felicitated Mr. Ragubathy, Head of HR, Amcor Flexibles India Pvt. Ltd., Puducherry, and Mr. Ashok Kumar, Deputy Manager of HR, Amcor Flexibles India Pvt. Ltd., Puducherry. The session provided a detailed discussion on stress, including ineffective and effective ways of coping with it. The programme featured various fun activities, a meditation session, and breathing techniques to manage stress. The employees also wrote down what makes them happy during stressful situations. About 30 employees participated and benefited from the wellbeing programme.

S, Director, SAHS, Vinayaka Mission’s Puducherry Campus  and felicitated the Chief guest Dr.Manju.D,MD ( Anaesthesiology),SLIMS , PUDUCHERRY .The event auspiciously started with a welcome dance.The Guest Speaker Dr.D.Manju MD, Anaesthesiology, delivered a lecture about  “Futuristic Trends and Advances in Anaesthesia Technology " and our students performed an awareness skit about the organ donation. As a token of encouragement awards and certificates were distributed to the poster presentation winners and certificates were distributed . At the end of the session the cake cutting ceremony was done. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.Poojapriya. Nearly 230  students benefited by the event.


World Breast Cancer Awareness Month - 2024

Department of Radiology and Imaging Technology on behalf of World Breast Cancer Awareness Month - 2024 organised Breast Cancer Awareness program in Idhaya College of Arts and Science for Women, Puducherry on 28/10/2024. The event started with the Welcome Address delivered by Dr.Mary Britto, Vice Principal, Idhaya College of Arts and Science for Women, Puducherry. Dr.Mary britto, Vice principal ICASW & Dr.Vijayalakshmi, HOD of Dept.of Biochemistry were felicitated by the faculties of Dept. Of RIT, SAHS. Our students delivered their insights regarding the breast cancer through their Mime play. Ribbon pasting campaign was done by the officials and students of ICASW, Puducherry.

Ms.Deepega S, Assistant Professor, SAHS, Puducherry Campus delivered her awareness lecture under the theme "Not to scare you, to make you aware" regarding the Breast cancer incidence, Risk factors and explained about the Breast self examination steps to the participants. Followed by our students of RIT performed the skit play to share their thoughts to prevent breast cancer. Pamphlets containing the information regarding the Breast cancer symptoms, risk factors and prevention steps were distributed among the students and faculties.Mr.D.Guruprakash, Assistant Professor, SAHS delivered the vote of Thanks.

The Department of Optometry organized
On the occasion of World Sight Day 2024, a Free Eye Camp and Eye Awareness Program with the theme "Children, Love Your Eyes" at Vizhudhugal Trust, Kirumampakkam, Puducherry. The program began with a welcome address by Prof.S.Andrew John Silvester, Director SAHS, after which he was honored with a memento by the Managing Trustee of Vizhudhugal Trust.

As a gesture of Goodwill, Food& Dresses were distributed to the students. Our students raised awareness through dance, a video presentation, and speeches. Approximately 50 students participated actively in the event.

The event auspiciously started with a welcome dance.The Guest Speaker Mrs. Monica.M delivered a lecture about  “Understanding  Cardiac arrest and Heart Attack" and our students performed an awareness skit about the cardiac arrest and our Post Graduate Msc.Echocardiography ( 1st yr) Student Mr. Devaraj.G  delivered a poster presentation about “Congenital heart disease and its procedures” and Sasikala .K Msc.Echocardiography (1st yr ) Student delivered a poster presentation about "Cardiomyopathy". As a token of encouragement awards and certificates were distributed to the poster presentation winners and certificates were distributed to the participants. Our Director Prof. Andrew John Silvester sir revealed our department logo badge. Nearly 230  students benefitted by the event.

Department of Renal Dialysis Technology organised.    On the occasion of "NATIONAL DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN WEEK 2024",   Guest Lecture and Intercollegiate Poster Competition at SAHS, Auditorium by 9.00 AM based on the theme: The Movement is now: celebrating the Dialysis Technician to Elevate Patient Care. Welcome address was delivered by Mr. Tamilselvan L, Lecturer SAHS. Prof. ‘Andrew John Silvester. S, Director, SAHS, Vinayaka Mission’s Puducherry Campus delivered the keynote address and felicitated the Chief guests, Ms. A. Hemalatha, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, SRIHER, Chennai and Mr. Gokulraj Kalimuthu, Senior Transplant Coordinator, Saveetha Medical College and Hospital, Chennai. The guest speaker Ms. Hemalatha mam delivered a lecture about  “Future alternatives to Dialysis” and Mr. Gokulraj Kalimuthu" delivered a lecture about “Raising awareness on Organ Transplantation: A Lifesaving Initiative”. Our Internal Resource Person Mr. Jayaprakash delivered a lecture about “Role of Dialysis Technologist”. As a token of encouragement awards and certificates were distributed to the poster presentation winners and certificates were distributed to the participants. Faculties from other colleges were honoured  with mementoes and certificates by Prof. Andrew John Silvester, Director. At the end of the session the cake cutting ceremony was done. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Preethi, Lecturer, SAHS. Nearly 105 students were benefitted by this event.

The event was celebrated with a cake cutting and presentation of memento to all outgoing students. A line of cultural events were presented by the juniors.  Final year MLT students donated wooden Pooja cupboard to the institution. Meha Coastal Clean-Up Drive

A NSS unit of SCHOOL OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES VMRF-DU Vinayaka Mission's PUDUCHERRY CAMPUS in collaboration with Bahour Commune, PUDUCHERRY  jointly organized the Meha Coastal Clean-Up Drive in the Pudukuppam Beach,Kannikovil, Puducherry on 02.10.2024.Our 50 NSS volunteers had actively participated in Beach Clean Up the process of cleaning and collecting plastic bottles, wastage and bags from pudukuppam Beach. Our Director sir Prof.S.Andrew John Silvester sir felicitated Bahour commune incharge.Nearly 150Kg of trash was collected from the beach clean up and submitted to the Bahour commune Municipality. Mr.Govarthanavishnu SAHS NSS coordinator, Mr.Kiran and Mr.Jayasuriya SAHS faculties coordinated and guided our students in the programme.
